Public land plots for furniture
« on: June 09, 2013, 10:18:17 pm »
Furniture saves only when places by or in houses right now, I think there should also be a few static places like PD (+PD interior), ST, and places like those. ST could be spiced up with some patio furniture, and right now PD is trying to come up with a ceremony that would make use of furniture so it'd help if things weren't removed over restart.

Or, for an easier alternative, make it so the non-recognized land rule doesn't apply to admins. That way all places that could do with their own furniture saving could just be handled by admins as they were discovered, and not need to be added in manually each time.

+1 I like this good idea. Would be especially good for public places being dynamically added to by our own players.

I don't agree to this, it'd be simpler to just map them and add them in. Giving admins the right to place furniture anywhere is unfair imo.

It's not giving them the power to do it at their own discretion, but to assist players if they need something put in for a while. For example, like the PD needs now, chairs and some misc decor for a ceremony. Putting a mapping through the entire suggestion process, waiting for it to be implemented, and then removed after whatever the occasion was if far from simpler, and I don't know how you came to that conclusion.

And there was the first method I suggested that you didn't address, which would just be adding common locations like PD or ST to the database for them to also save furniture placed near them.

I'm completely behind this suggestions. Would make the city less bland.

No, cause it's unfair to the ones who can't "abuse" it.

1.) What would be the point of abusing this?
2.) Which admin would abuse this/does abuse?
3.) There's a difference between abusing admin powers, and using powers in a trollish manner to have fun with players' consent.

Businesses will soon be added to the system, and furniture for ceremonies can be placed and then moved or sold back before a reboot, I'm not sure I see a reason to add a feature that will clutter the city with shed loads of objects?
