I realise some of you may already know, or have guessed, what exactly Cypher is, but for those of you who don't, here you are.

Cypher has become an ambiguous word over time, it now refers to two things, the Cypher Project (AKA Project X), and the Cypher Server (AKA Cypher RPG or CRPG).

Cypher Server
The idea for the Cypher server has been around since the first time someone on RRP said What if we went back to the Pugs Script?. At this point people became divided, half wanted to and the other half wanted to make RRP more strict in terms of RRP, which for those of you familiar with the old Pugs script, are two scenarios that do not go together.

The Cypher server is an RPG styled gamemode, but not an edit. This is something that is unbelievably important but will probably not be noticed. Cypher RPGs script is 100% original. It is not a modified version of anything. It was written from a blank file up to its current form, over 29,000 (And counting) lines of my own work. I won't deny that the theory behind certain things, the way certain things look and certain ideas are based on other scripts and servers, hell we even use some stuff from RRP. But everything and I mean everything was designed specifically for Cypher in mind.

The objective of CRPG (Cypher RPG) is to gain levels and prestige to the highest point, building up your cash along the way, and purchasing properties as you go (Here the similarities start). As you go, there are a variety of activities to do in order to keep you entertained, and believe me they vary. From basic races where you drive an NRG from one checkpoint to another, to a death race, which is essentially the same thing, but with rockets on your roof, explosive barrel drops and general mayhem, all done on a custom map. Of course there's also Base Jumping, Skydiving, Stunting, Destruction Derbies and Paintball, but they sound less exciting on paper. Oh and there's also a wide variety of Jobs and Achievements to work on, plus an ingame Gang system, fully controlled by your PDA.

Oh of course the PDA! The PDA is everything. The PDA can do damn near everything and damn near everything needs the PDA to work. Think of it as a smartphone, but without the porn. But hey rather than me explain it just use /pda when you're in-game and you'll see for yourself.

The Cypher Project
The Cypher project is what this is all really about. The theory is that by splitting RRP into RRP and CRPG, we can give everyone what they want, simply on different servers. Obviously this presents the problem of splitting people up, with RPGers and RPers likely not playing with each other anytime soon, however because everything will be done under the Cypher label (Or Cypher Gaming to be more precise), you will all convene on the same forum, posting in your respective server's development boards, but all talking together in the general area.

This is going to take some getting used to. I won't deny that. But the end result will be two separate servers, each of which will be updated regularly, without hassle, and each working towards their own separate goals. And on the subject of updated regularly, I do mean it. Now that they are separated, suggestions will be considerably easier to sort out, there will no longer be a debate as to whether a fuel system is RP. It will simply be added on RRP (If people accept it) and left out of Cypher (Unless people, for some odd reason, want it).

Anyway. I've bored you enough. The server will be open shortly, more information to follow!
